I never liked writing concluding paragraphs to papers—where you just repeat what you’ve already said with phrases like In summation, and To conclude. I didn’t do that—instead I talked about why I thought it was an important question. People, I thought, wanted security. They couldn’t bear the idea of death being a big black nothing, couldn’t bear the thought of their loved ones not existing, and couldn’t even imagine themselves not existing. I finally decided that people believed in an afterlife because the couldn’t bear not to.
that sounds 99% better than any bachelorette party i’ve ever attended
Definitely sounds like my kind of party.
I know it’s not always easy for you, Rachel. And I know that there are some things about yourself that you think you’d like to change, but you should know that there is some boy out there who’s gonna like you for everything you are. Including those parts of you that even you don’t like. Those are gonna be the things he likes the most.
